MY TURNING POINT

 

Sugar was a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My father worked for a renowned European chocolatier, so our home was always filled with candy and desserts.

 

I grew up hooked. From childhood through college, my diet was packed with white bread (which turns into sugar in the body) and more soda than I’d like to admit. Some days, I would drink up to half a gallon, without a second thought.

 

 

It all came to a head during my time in the ARMY. The stress and physical demands were intense, and sugar became my go-to fuel. Chocolates, sodas, and coffee kept me going... or so I thought.

 

Then one day, it went too far. After consuming an overload of sugar in a short period, my body shut down. I slipped into what I now know was a sugar coma and had to be hospitalized.

 

 

Lying in that hospital bed, I realized how much power sugar had over me. It wasn’t just about energy anymore. It was about my health, my clarity, and my future.

 

That moment was my wake-up call.

 

It pushed me to study Holistic Nutrition at IIN and learn that the solution wasn’t cutting sugar out completely overnight. The real solution was understanding cravings and addressing them at the root.

 


 

CHOOSING AWARENESS OVER CRAVINGS

 

What I discovered changed everything: 

Sugar itself wasn’t the enemy. Your unconscious choices are.

 

Once you become aware, you can start asking yourself better questions:

  • Am I truly hungry, or just stressed?
  • Do I need sugar, or do I need rest?
  • Is this craving physical, or is it emotional?

 

 

 

That awareness became my turning point and it can become yours, too. When you shift your perception, you’ll realize you don’t need sugar to fuel your best work. What you really need is balance.
